   WOW Packard Bell are still around.. I thought they went out on the late 90’s…

   Sounds like the OS is cooked

   power supply tester is about 20 usd online or free testing at shops that sell new ps.

   other ideas — can it boot from a bootable cd? you may have to enter the BIOS to change the boot sequence to try this [make the hd last in the boot order].

   if it can, i can think of the following issues:

   boot sector on hd is corrupt or virus laden.
   pointer in boot sector to required SATA or RAID driver is corrupt
   required SATA or RAID driver is corrupt.

   i would check all the connections with the cables and cards in the computer and try to restart. im not sure whats wrong with windows, but the shutting down sounds like a power supply problem so you may want to replace that with a new one probably with higher wattage.
