Hi, i had the quick de-frag virus. Running my AV software made no difference,i did a system restore in desperation, i went back several days before infection, when i re-booted it had gone completly ,i then ran my AV as a precaution,im not sure if this was the safest way to deal with this type of problem, but it seems to have worked. 2 days later i contracted "SYSTEM TOOLS" virus. This virus, like de-frag is just a bland attempt to con you, but wont damage your pc . Dont bother running your AV,as your pc will shut down before it has a chance to analyze and quarantine.Re-boot….after 1st beep, press F8, select SAFE MODE ,then do a system restore.upon re-boot do a full sweep with your AV protecection.Im no expert at this so you might be well advised to consult someone who knows about virus removal before trying it yourself.Paul
1. Load your computer in safe mode with networking. Click Start, click Shut down, click Restart, click OK. During your computer starting process press F8 key on your keyboard multiple times until you see Windows Advanced Option menu, then select Safe mode with networking from the list.
2. Open Internet explorer, click Tools and select Internet Options. Select Connections, then click LAN settings, if a Use a proxy server for your LAN is checked, uncheck it and press OK.
3. Download and install a legitimate anti-spyware software. Choose from malwarebytes antimalware or superantispyware. Download links http://www.pcrisk.com/top-spyware-removers Both are free and does a great job at detecting and removing spyware. Download, install and update before running a full system scan.
Spybot is an excellent cleaner.
But I recommend downloading Iobit Security 360 as a backup. It is extremely fast and quick. It also has background protection which can prevent bad things from being installed in your computer.
This should be able to help you. You might still have some files leftover that’s why your computer still seems to be recognising this error:
