It sounds like you’re using a company computer so…. is it networked?
Where are the files saved? Locally or through the network/servers??
If locally, then delete the files and any and all traces. Problem is… you may miss some and a complete wipe and reinstall is the best method of cleanup BUT… it’s the company’s computer so you probably don’t have permission to do so!
If it’s on a network… well… you’re up the creek since almost all companies make backups of their files on a daily basis so it may be on backups somewhere!
Remember to remember your Favorites/bookmarks as well!
Good luck!
tell the truth…it’s full of porn. it’s ok. if you want some more go to http://www.pornatorium.com
Format the HDD.
Delete system32.
I’m with Tony.
Sort the images by date and delete when ever you start seeing the "non-porn" images haha.
-> uninstalling any downloaded software (control panel->software || c:\Program Files ((x86)))
-> deleting all content in the c:\users folder (excluding the folders such as documents and settings, videos, music, and examples in there respective folders)
Those should be the 2 main areas unless viruses have also booked a room on the computer.
The best way to clean off a computer for another person would be to re-install windows. That will make the computer just like it was when you bought it. Search Google to find out how to do that.
To just remove the stuff you saved, just empty all the folders you saved them in. Start with My Documents, and then if you use Limewire or something just empty the folder(s) that program saves to.
To only remove image files, find the folders you saved the pictures in and then search only those folders for pictures.
Call your IT department and ask them to rebuild the machine. If they tell you no, delete several system files which should cause some system instability which should prompt a rebuild.
search files from the day you started to today
highlight and delete
I’m assuming you already know what files are to be deleted…
Simply finding the files and pressing delete (even from the Windows Recycle Bin) doesn’t completely remove files from a PC.
There is a free administrative utility called ERASER – its an advanced security tool that over-writes files with random data (you can use various, highly secure settings). It is used at Government level and in the Military. The highest level of security takes a while to complete – but can be run as a background task. This process also makes great demands of your hardware – but at the end of the process, data is more or less irrecoverable.
I don’t know what your computer set up is – you many have to ask your systems administrator if you can install and run this executable. Be very careful what you delete.
