   could someone have played a joke on you?

   for instance.. in your sounds panel there is a spot to assign audio files to play when certain actions are performed on the computer (stuff like opening/closing programs, minimizing windows, errors, etc). the reason i ask is… i’ve played this joke on my coworkers. gets them every time… 🙂

   just to be on the safe side… check:

   start > settings > control panel > sounds and audio devices
   click the sounds tab
   first option Sound Schemes — click the drop down menu, scroll to "no sounds" if it is not selected already.
   be sure to scroll thru the list below that, under Program Events, to make sure there are no sounds associated with anything.
