I have the “blue screen” on my hp desktop running windows xp. I have seen online, software to download that will clean the registry. How can I download if the computer is frozen on the blue screen?

Reinstall your OS that came with your computer. I hope you don’t have an HP.
When starting up the computer and before it gets to the Window XP loading screen, press F8 multiple times until you get a menu, and enter into safe mode, and that may get you in.
I agree with the other posters but I would stay away from registry cleaners as they are sometimes spyware to make your computer worse off than before. But for a short term fix I would try pressing the Ctrl-Alt-Del buttons at the same time a few times, of this doesn’t work then shut down your computer by pressing and holding the power button, wait 15 seconds and start it back up. if you end up with the blue screen you may have to restore your computer back to its original state. I would call tech support or find a person that knows about computers to help you out.
