I just formated me computer yesterday in an effort to get rid of the constant "Messanger Service" pop-ups from RegistryCleanerXP.
After the format, everything seemed fine, but today i was browsing the net and i got the same pop-up as before.
Why??
I have only gone to two or three websites since the format, and everything seemed fine. But now the pop-up's are back.
How can i get ride off them premanatly?? And how are they getting one my computer??
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks for the info Gary,
But i was just wondering, if doing it through services.msc will affect anything else on my computer??
I had actually read that method of fixing the problem, but some people say that if you do it through services.msc, then it will disable other things on your computer such as MSN messenger.
Is that true?

,make sure you run ALL the programs 2 or 3 times
Please install a popup blocker. Download and Install Yahoo toolbar as well as a good Anti-Spyware (Trend Micro/SpySweeper).
If you connected to the internet, your computer will get affected by spyware or vorus at any point of time. Please keep the computer secure by using Antivirus scanner and Antispyware software.
MSN Messenger is totally different than MS Messenger.
The only use you could possibly have for MS Messenger is if you were on a local network or domain, then you could send MS Messages to others on the network/domain.
There are no other services or functions dependent on MS Messenger.
Good luck! Hope it works for you.
Don't worry, you're not infected and you didn't do anything wrong. Spammers are out there sending MS Messenger "messages" to lists of IP addresses. It's all by chance that they eventually count up to your IP address.
These are NOT internet browser pop ups and they are totally harmless!. But, let's turn those annoying suckers off anyway, shall we?
Click Start > Run > type in: services.msc > Ok
Look down the list for the "Messenger" service and double click it.
Press the "Stop" button. Now change the Startup Type to "Disabled". Click: Ok
You will no longer get the scary and annoying popup messages.
