It use to be that you could get better protection if you combined security programs and made your own security suite. That hasn’t been the case now for a couple of years. The security suites run everything together, and offer good protection. As good as you can get from combining programs. This is other thing that users who aren’t up on current security tests don’t know.
AVG free is not good protection. You have the paid version of AVG which is better. I’ve used it and it did a good job. But it’s detection rate is much lower than many of the other anti-virus programs. Norton, Nod32, Avast, Avira, Kaspersky and several others. So you might want to think about that. I usually don’t put much weight on a one percent difference. But in the case of AVG it’s 7 or 8 percent. That’s alot. Everything else you have looks good. I think if you are not using AVG link scanner. You should get WOT (Web of Trust) for your browser. Plus you have Malwarebytes which is something everyone should have. I checked out Verizon internet Security and could not find out want anti-virus engine they are using, so without knowing that I can’t really give you a answer on that. With your current set up, if you where to switch anti-virus program when your time is up I think you have a protection that is better than many users. I’m not trying to dog AVG, as I said it did a good job when I had it. But it’s detection rate is a real concern.
suites aren’t better than the sum of their parts, usually. there are two things they’re good for: ensuring you have multiple elements of protection, and they usually don’t duplicate work within their elements.
neither of those are really an issue if you know what you’re doing. you’ve got the right elements (firewall, anti-virus, anti-malware, cleaner), i’d just make sure that your firewall choice has a host-based intrusion prevention system (HIPS, but also called just IPS or sometimes IDS, though that’s technically different).
your probably better off with a firewall like comodo or pc tools firewall plus. both are free and some of the best protection around (see source 1).
avg is a decent virus scanner, but there are better ones, some free, like avira antivir (see source 2).
i use spybot s&d primarily for their hosts file update (with the greatest single list of blocked bad sites i’ve found to date), and also use mbam when i feel like a second opinion. ccleaner’s also done a pretty good job of keeping things tidy in general on my system. the combination of avira and ccleaner have kept spybot and mbam scans clear.
those programs arnt that good but malwarebytes and superantispyware are.
These are all good (As da brutha’s say "Day be bumpin"!)
FREE SECURITY SYSTEMS
1. (Malwarebytes,Superantispyware,Avira).
Malwarebytes and Superantispyware are both on demand scanners and Avira is a scanner/firewall combo,They work well with each other and are lite and effective, although Avira is prown to giving false positives from time to time?
Watch this video that shows how to use these programs to kill malware.

2. (Pctools Antivirus,Threatfire and Firewall plus).
PcTools Antivirus is the same as SpyDoc with antivirus only lighter and it has real time protection,Threatfire has real time threat analysis and Firewall plus is a nice user friendly firewall,They work well with each other and are lite and effective.

Stay Safe Out There (^.^)
No, tell her to stay put.. As long as you have the paid AVG you are fine.. I would run besides mbam , the superantispyware , also free, once a week , Stay safe,, Glad to see a smart peep in here,,
Personally what i would get is Kasperky antivirus Internet security 2009 or BitDefender Internet security 2009.
They both have build in firewalls & Malware/Spyware..
I would rather go for the Kasperky though!!!
Both these Antivirus programs are in the top ten best antivirus software for 2009
1st place = BitDefender Internet security 2009
2nd place = Kasperky antivirus Internet security 2009
Hope this helps you out and helps you save money.
