Try Disk Cleanup in Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup.
Check the after cleanup, if you still need more space, then open the disk cleanup again and go to the "More Options" tab, on the "System Restore and Shadow Copies" section, click on "Clean up" then "OK"
Open My Computer and say surprised!
besides you get your hard disk space back, clean up the system restore and shadow copies has its disadvantage as well. that’s if your system fault, you won’t be able to restore the system back to its earlier state (because the system checkpoint has been deleted by doing so). However, if you sure your system won’t fault by any reason such as virus or anything else. Go ahead and do it. 🙂

You may need to get an additional Hard Drive- store all you photos/music/movies (remember to back up)
