So not too long ago I was messing around with the browserui.dll and shell32.dll files in the system32 file in windows. One thing led to another and I had to run "sfc /scannow" in the Command window to repair my files -_-

After a successful scan and restart, everything seemed to be perfectly fine. At least, until I tried to run a few programs. I started to get problems from the Stardock programs, mainly LogonStudio Vista. Now everytime I try to run it, an error pops up saying "LogonStudio has stopped working."
I tried a number of different supposed solutions, from reinstalling my .net framework, to uninstalling all Stardock programs and cleaning my registry. Nothing is working, and the problem persists. This also occurs with Stardock Impulse.

I have a Gateway desktop, Windows Vista Home Premium, SP2.
I was afraid someone was going to mention re-installing windows 🙁

But that’s a last resort solution. I’m not there just yet.

*i dont know if i have a software or a hardware problem. this is what i see…

This portion of the Setup program prepares Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP to run on your computer.

-To set up Windows XP now, Press Enter.
-To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R.
-To quit Setup without installing Windows XP, press F3.

If I hit ENTER, this is what it says:

The following list shows the existing partitions and unpartitioned space on this computer.

Use the UP and DOWN ARROW keys to select an item in the list.

-To set up Windows XP on the selected item, press ENTER.
-To create a partition in the unpartitioned space, press C.
-To delete the selected partition, press D.

if I hit D to delete the partitions(?), a blue screen pops up showing this:

A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you’ve seen this Stop error screen, restart this computer……

etc…etc… (I’m sure you know what this screen says)
