So right now there is nothing "added" to it, it is a fresh install so i do not know what to remove to make it stop freezing, all the drivers are up to date, if it is a driver causing the problem how do i know which one?

I had the Total Security/Anti-Virus Pro_2010 rogue virus which I have removed with mulitple programs and then did a registry clean with COMODO but now my Autoplay camera wizard is not automatically popping up like it always has in the past. I ran an Avast scan which found no infected files but also could not scan 44 files. Before this virus Avast always could scan all my files and never showed these "unscannable" files. On a forum I saw that someone provided a forum moderator specialist who was helping them remove their virus the same list of files as mine (in the same order too) from some type of file check they do to figure out how they want to attack and remove the virus. This fact makes me sure that this must be part of my problem. Any info on how to fix this situation would be greatly appreciated. Here are the unscannable files:

I restarted my pc and got this error message "Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt : \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM
You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup.
Select ‘r’ at the first screen to start repair."
Then I followed these steps :

Boot to the Recovery Console.
At the Recovery Console command prompt, type the following lines, pressing ENTER after you type each line:
md tmp
copy c:\windows\system32\config\system c:\windows\tmp\system.bak
copy c:\windows\system32\config\software c:\windows\tmp\software.bak
copy c:\windows\system32\config\sam c:\windows\tmp\sam.bak
copy c:\windows\system32\config\security c:\windows\tmp\security.bak
copy c:\windows\system32\config\default c:\windows\tmp\default.bak

My problem is after typing
copy c:\windows\system32\config\security c:\windows\tmp\security.bak then i press enter it says "the system cannot find the file specified" and so on the c:\windows\system32\config\default.
Please Help

I type an entire sentence befor I see it when I am using my yahoo mail. When I look in my "add or remove programs" I see about 20 updates for Windows XP could this be part of the problem there are a couple updates per month… Other with what?
Thats- otherwise what?

Its a laptop, that had some kind of Windows test version, I guess the one right before they came out with Vista, because that’s what it looks like. It says "Windows 2007 Test version only". So I was just gonna get rid of it. I have a New Windows I wanted to load onto it.

It boots alright, starts to load some of the drivers, get to the screen where it asks you if you want to repair press x, install press ENTER.

Before I have the time to press install, the whole thing shuts down.
Every time.

Can you help me?

The stats:
Computer = Compaq Presario V2000
Software = Windows XP Home Edition (not a rip, store bought)
lol Can you explain how to do that innnnnn Simple Terms?

But its also not Vista. Its a Test Version of Windows 2007, that looks and acts like Vista. It says on the bottom of the screen

Also, the laptop may have a nasty virius from the previous owner. It shuts off if I boot from CD, but also Ive found, if I do disk clean up, the laptop will shut down as well. I think theres something protecting it self. Am I crazy lol
