Is Windows security center virus protection safe to download?

Our computer is already protected by Webroot Antivirus, but a window keeps popping up at random times from windows saying if we want to block certain viruses that have been found on our computer and if we want to enable protection, but I am not sure if enabling the protection is safe. Also, windows security alerts wants us to download a virus protection, is it safe and genuine, or is it a virus within itself? (if not, will it affect Webroot Antivirus?)

What can i do to fix my slow computer?

After downloading IMVU, my computer started running very slow. After a while, i deleted it from my computer, and my computer is running slower and worse than ever. Things keep installing themselves, and at random times things from internet explorer like advertisements keep popping up. It freezes very often as well. I've tried deleting things that arent necessary on my computer, and its only improved a little bit. What can i do to fix this my computer?
