   Well okay. Think of the registry as a map of a bunch of different roads, with a bunch of directions printed on it as to how to get from here to there.
   Any time there is a new "There" to get to, you gotta put in a new set of directions. Sometimes those directions change the directions in other routes. (They do.. its just how it works). Over time, when you install a program, move a file, rip a disk, uninstall a program, delete a file, etc. the amount of directions get stacked up, such that getting from "here" to "there" requires turning 35 times and reading each set of directions over and over at each turn.

   A registry cleaner is a road crew that goes in a
   1) Makes sure all of the "there"s are still there,
   2) Removes all of the directions for any that are not
   3) Reroutes everything in the most efficient way possible.
   4) Makes sure that it all works
   5) Goes home until next time you need them.

   Like all road crews, they occasionally blow up a sewer line while trying to do their job, so back up your current registry once before doping anything too drastic.

   they can tell you about the errors and you can sort it out, even if the registry cleaner says it fixes it, you can do it your self. I have got registry booster that is free, and I find that getting rid of windows components you don’t use, or what really really helps, is getting rid of short cuts, desk top items and my resent documents in the start menu.

   When you uninstall a program or app some registry entries may remain. Especially if they are shared entries. Using a cleaner can get rid of those unused entries and in turn speed up your pc.
