this site will give you a sony vaio laptop just for completing some quick online tasks! really recommend it, especially if you’re broke but really want/need a laptop (like me).
Try to boot using safe mode. If you can enter safe mode without problem, chances are one of your hardware drivers may have been corrupted causing windows to crash.
As to the shutting off of PC when you close the lid, I think that’s a normal feature of any laptops to save on battery. Mine also does the same. Nothing wrong with that.
As to the little green battery light, I think its just an indication that your battery is recharging. It should shut off by itself when done.
Now going back to your first problem, its usually hard to pinpoint the exact driver that’s causing the OS to fail. Usually when such things happens to my PC I just reformat and reinstall the entire OS instead of isolating the culprit.
Check to make sure hibernate mode is not clicked on.
Make sure it is not sleeping or on a hybernate mode . . .
Sounds alot like the Blaster Worm virus. My laptop did the exact same thing hun, and I did a restore on the OS and everything was fine. Good luck to you!!
