Upgrading your ram is done by physically placing new ram onto the motherboard. The process is not terribly hard, however, you need to know what type of RAM your system takes and how many available slots your system has.
This site will explain how to do that:
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/what-kind-of-memory-does-my-computer-have-installed/
Memory isn’t too hard to put in. When you open your machine you will see where the memory is. Older SIMM memory you place into the slot at a slight angle and then turn it till it catches. DIMM Memory you open the white catches on the side and gently insert the memory being careful in both cases to make sure that you have the memory oriented in the correct direction.
Have you defragged? Always helps.
You can check what ram you need here

yes ….. get more RAM upgrade!!!!!
RAM is hardware. Virtual memory is hard disk space, but is wicked slow. Consider getting more RAM. Look up your computer at Crucial.com or click this link: http://www.jdoqocy.com/click-2594269-5032657
It is so easy to ADD RAM to your computer.
Good luck and Happy Computing!
