i used to use avg and i hear avast is quite good
Free ones:
AVG Free
Avast Home Edition
Avira AntiVir
(They all just happen to start with "A")
Norton, mcafee, windows live onecare.
I use Norton 360.
If you’d like, here is a FREE 90 day (no limitations) subscription to Norton 360 OR antivirus.
Typically Symantec only allows a 15 day trial:

I personally use Norton 360 and I love it, it doesnt slow down your pc and it stops all threats.
