Best Registry Cleaner is the best, have a try and it will help you.

CCleaner is very good program and is worth running over your machine.
Also consider running a checkdisk and defrag on the hard disk, as a PC stuttering at times can be caused by a failing or damaged hard disk.
As will all things like this, ensure you have a backup of all your important images and documents, just in case
If you haven’t been running any type of maintenance programs or processes, yeah CC Cleaner will help. Regular maintenance is part of operating and keeping your computer functioning well.
What should be included in maintenance (you do have virus protection and adware/spyware removal running scan automatically?), is at the minimum using Disk Clean up (or CC Cleaner, a little more thorough) and doing a de-frag. Some people can do it once a month and some people need to do it weekly. Depends on how big your system is and how far you can let the "garbage" accumulate before it starts holding you back.
I use CC Cleaner myself; especially to correct registry errors and clean up the remains when I have been installing or uninstalling programs. CC does both, it’s two separate operations. Then do a disk de-frag. If you have never done one of those, it’s will probably run for hours. Found under start> programs> accessories> system tools> de-frag.
Vista is full of performance issues to begin with and to let your system get bogged down with junk only makes it worse. Be sure to download your CC Cleaner from a good site like CNET, their downloads are guaranteed virus free.
Start Task Manager, And notice which process takes up memory or processor during that not responding. It might be Anti virus.
