Go to a computer tech forum and see what people recommend. I have used
http://www.computing.net
and put in the question. You will get plenty of answers.
If they are free they may not be good. They might erase a registry entry that you need.
CCleaner is the best for what your looking for
You do not need a registry cleaner – there are so many thousands upon thousands of registry keys, removing a handful of redundant or incorrect keys isn’t going to make any noticeable difference. I’ve worked in the software field for 15 years and I’ve not once used one at work or at home. Due to the nature of my work I am occasionally manually creating or editing key myself, so I promise over the years there are a few redundant or incorrect keys accumulated.
Get yourself a good trusted antivirus (Norton or AVG, etc) and it will check the registry for anything harmful or caused by a virus, and an ad-ware/malware scanner (since a number of these so-call registry cleaners contain ad-ware or malware) and that’s all you need.
