When is the last time you cleaned your registry and fully optimized your computer? This is a frequent causes of a computer being slow. It is simply overwhelmed with useless and problematic files and programs. I would recommend giving your computer a jump start by performing a diagnostic test. You can get a free scan at
http://www.registry-clean-up.net
The best way is to try to Tune up your PC with software programs of your choice that will clean up you pc and give it a boost in performance. You may want to start by unistalling any unecessary programs you do not use. The simple way is to go to add/remove under the control panel. While it may remove the program usually leaves some unecessary files behind. You can get a detailed uninstall of programs by using specialized software. If that does not help you may need to scan your registry for any errors and delete any unecessary media or other files. If you have done all of this an still no boost in your performence. You may want to cosider upgrade in memory if your motherboard allows it. It may already be runing in max memory capacity.Feel free to contact me =) Try the site below the Great package deal.
First, backup all your data to an external medium.
Then, if you have no hardware problems, do this:
(1) Run a FULL anti-virus scan with a good virus scanner. Get free editions of Avast or Antivir. Use the latest virus definitions file. But don’t install or run more than one anti-virus at the same time.

(2) Run anti-spyware scans with Super Anti-spyware and malwarebytes free editions.

(3) Ensure all Microsoft security updates are applied.
(4) Run disk cleanup to delete old temp files and other junk
(5a) Run chkdsk once to scan for file system errors. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265
(5b) Run a thorough disk defrag. Use a good defragmenter for this, and also run a boot-time defrag to fix the MFT and page file if they are fragmented. Check out Diskeeper 2009, which is widely acknowledged to be the best defragger around. Their website has free 30-day trial versions. http://www.diskeeper.com
(6) Disable unnecessary background processes and services that take up memory.
(7) Make sure all the hardware components have the latest and most stable drivers. Video card performance in particular is strongly dependent on drivers.
You do not need to clean out the registry or mess with the registry in ANY way whatsoever. Deleting a wrong key from the registry can damage your operating system.
Good Luck!

Most computers actually run slow because of a hidden part of your system, which is constantly being used by Windows. This part of your PC is called the "registry" and is the central database for Windows, which stores everything from your latest emails to your desktop wallpaper. It’s one of the most important parts of Windows and can easily make your PC run slow. The more corrupt registry files your computer has, the more it struggles to read them. The files which makes it run slower and slower. To fix this, you simply need to use a registry cleaner http://make-computer-run-smoothly.com . These are small software tools which actually work by scanning through the registry and fixing any bad files that are in there. This then allows Windows to read as many files as it wants, when it wants to.
You can use a registry cleaner to clean up your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there may be some registry errors and remnant, corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause "computer slow".
Every time you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry.over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions, especially if the various programs you’ve installed do not do a good job of deleting and/or updating it’s Registry entries. You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Registry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically!
There are some comparison and review of TOP 5 registry cleaners.

You can download and scan your computer for free.
All the above options are good ones, but if all else fails, then I suggestrunning a system recovery. That will clean everything off your computer and put it back to factory settings.
*I suggest saving your files to a flash drive and relocating them to another computer.
*DO NOT DO A SYSTEM COMPRESS!
Most slow issues are related to CPU and or RAM related issues. If you are having application response issues this is related to both of these items. The first thing to review is the processes that are operating in the background. If running xp this is simple. ctrl+alt+del for the task manager. click on the tab marked processes and verify that only 45-50 processes are running. If there are more than you should shut down any processes that are not SYSTEM related. The other cure for mulitple processes running is to click the following start/run: enter msconfig then click on the start up tab. go through the list of items that you do not want to start up at the boot. This will eliminate you having to stop processes every time you restart. Note after this process you will restart and be sure to click the waring that you reconfigured your start up or it will appear everytime.
Ok next thing to check would be defrag and cookies.
click start/my computer/alt click on c drive/click on properties/tools tab/defrag. Always run analyze first if defrag is required do so. This is a slow process and requires that no other applications are occrruing.
Finally I would try this.
Clean out temp file and recycle bin.
Via the following steps
start/control panel/free up space on your hard disk/select c drive/chose items to eliminate. run clean up.
Note the above are all related to maintenance. If infact it is your interenet speed that is slow none of this will speed up your browsing. If it is application related then a cpu or ram upgrade may be needed.
Good luck
go to my computer search tools and click on hard drive clean up it will delete things you dont need and it will save memory and will make your computer faster, and if it is still slow take it to a computer store and buy at least 2 GB RAM memory and it will make your computer faster
Defragmenting your computer will help it run faster.
Go into:
Start
All Programs
Accessories
System tools
System defragmenter
This joins up all the free space in your computer. It may seem complicated, but it makes your computer a lot quicker.
start-all programms-accesories-system tools-disk cleanup and disk defragmenter might not help but it seems you dont all ready know about them so use them
and the pop ups i cant help you with
A RAM upgrade is a great step in improving your computer performance. But often hardware addition don’t always give as much speed as one would like. You need to perform a few maintenance task to make sure that you can get the most out of your recent RAM upgrade and improve your PC performance.
Firstly, if you haven’t cleaned your registry in a while. This is necessary. Your registry holds all the information regarding updates, installs, un-installs etc. Each one of those events produces a key. That key needs your PC’s resources and free space. So, if you clean your registry, you make more resources available for speed. Do a registry scan if you got more than 20 errors you should clean it.

2. Clear your Windows cache files, this is your temporary file. It can grow up to a large volume and stop your computer from using RAM properly. In a sense slow it down by preventing it from using free space. Here is how:
1. Quit Internet Explorer, Firefox, or any other web browser
2. Click Start, click "Control Panel", and then double-click "Internet Options".
3. On the General tab, click "Delete Files" under Temporary Internet Files.
4. In the Delete Files dialog box, click to select the "Delete all offline content" check box , and then click OK.
5. Click OK.
3. Manage your startups. Your excess CPU usage is due to too many programs running in the background. You can cut these to barebones by alter your msconfig. Here is how:
1. Open your Start menu.
2. Click Run
3. In the command screen type "msconfig.exe"
4. In the "system configuration utility",click either "service" or "startup" tab
5. Uncheck all programs that your are no longer using.
6. Click "OK"
Other great tip is increasing your virtual memory to simulate more RAM. This will give you a bit more resources for multiple program use or CPU heavy programs. Check the link to alter your virtual memory spec.
Hope this link helps. Shows you how to do everything step by step. You should get a least 60-120% more resources and speed
if you follow the tips.
