When you run disk clean up it will calculate and tell you everything that you can delete and how much space it will save you. It used to be more of a valuable tool when hard drive space was at a premium. Now you probably don’t have to worry about it. It’s not going to speed much up. You will only see a gain in "internet browsing" speed if you have a large amount of temporary internet files that your computer has to filter through. You should clean these types of files out every so often depending on how often you browse the internet. But it is recommended to do this through your browser and delete history and cookies also to your choosing. And as others have said this does NOT remove programs or personal files that you have saved on your computer. However, at least in Vista there is a tab for more options and a button to remove programs. This takes you to what was add/remove programs in XP or the new programs and features window in Vista.
It does not remove all your things; only those listed e.g. temporary files etc. These are not necessary files and should be cleaned out periodically. It frees up space and may result in your computer running faster, but not necessarily. I have my computer set to perform disk clean every so often; also, while in dick clean, click on "tools" and do a de-fragmentation often. This cleans up "holes" and incomplete files on your hard drive. I have this set to happen every week. It may help your computer run faster by compressing the files and removing gaps in the system.
Disk cleanup removes any unnecessary files (Temporary files, log files, error reports etc.) that are no longer required or not essential. It does not remove user files or programs.
Use the disk cleanup tool if you want to free up some space on your hard drive. It does not, however, improve your internet downloads — that depends on your connection speed.
it removes the programs & files taht you don’t often use..!!
But I mean you’ll still be able to find it somewhere on the computer..
^_^
It removes unused files cookies and all the old files as i said Befro all unneeded and unused files and it frees up some space up.
It will remove the "useless" data from your disk. like temporary files that internet downloaded. stuff that you might have in the recycle bin also Microsoft Office installation files and such. but nothing really important. most of it is junk. it will help it a little bit but dont expect to see a big difference. unless you have like 10 or 20 gb of temporary files and cookies. but all your pictures music and stuff will NOT be deleted.
