   Yes it helps. It will speed up your Pc somewhat and could possibly remove unwanted entries in your operating system. The registry cleaner will go through your programs and check to see if it (your registry) references any programs that do not exist or invalid entries. It will also correct invalid paths and keys if it finds them.
