I have those annoying WinFixer Popups, and i want to get rid of them, along with some other popups (bad ones), and i also want to rid myself of the Blackberrry virus, which i am continually told has breached my computer. Windows Security center has told me that my computer has been breached and private information is being sent. It offers downloads like WinAntiVirus PRO. Are these really to remove viruses, or are they themselves just pieces of more spyware. I also believe i have a virus, because when i run Adaware SE,it always runs into one critical file in the first 60 or so seconds, and then my computer will basically go into classic mode, with a whitish colored taskbar at the bottom, and finally the computer will shut down. i cannot remove the virus with Adaware, since it shuts my computer down first. please give me some advice, especially if it solves both antivirus and popup issues, and please do not suggest Google Toolbar for popups, as i dont think it’ll be able to remove these.

The "Windows Security Center" that you are seeing is part of the Winfixer scam. Trying to goad you into purchasing useless software.
Howdy
I have two free spyware removal programs. I’ve tried both and each of them work just as good for me!
– Adaware Personal Edition – http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
– Spybot: Search and Destroy – http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
I have a few Free Antivirus programs I can reccomend to you.. I have tried all of the following and liked them! :O)
http://www.avast.com/ avast!
http://www.free-av.com/ AntiVir HBEDV
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/ AVG Free Edition
Also, if your willing to experiment (this product as of now is still in testing)

If your fine with forking over a couple bucks, I have another solution — I am VERY satisfied with the current version of Norton Systemworks. (http://www.symantec.com/home_homeoffice/products/internet_security/nav2006/index.html ). This program is worth every cent, you won’t be sorry!
If you would like to use Norton Antivirus for Free, along with many other tools (Adaware Personal Edition, for deleting spyware) it IS that is possible… You will have to download it through the google pack, which URL is provided here:
http://pack.google.com/
Also, Check with your ISP (Internet Service Provider). They are the people that connect you to the internet. Sometimes your ISP can provide your with AntiVirus for free. (Netzero, AOL, comcast, etc, do.) :O)
