i got me a used computer. It dont have much stuff in it but is really slow. The original modem was taken out so now i use a external modem. But i want to clean it out. Like the registry and junk files. Im using windows xp professional. Can anyone help? I want something that isnt going to destroy my computer.

u can try for system mechanic ,it not only cleans the registry, but it also use to keep the system with optimum performance,if it not works then u can try for various other registry cleaner which is available free in the web

Spybot Search and Destroy is an excellent cleaner of spyware/malware that often slows computers down to a crawl. Lavasoft’s Ad-Aware is also good. Run them both!
