I am interested in getting started in computer repair. I have seen many computer diagnostic boards that you plug into a PCI slot. They will tell you if the motherboard, power supply, memory, processor, etc. are dead or dying. Anyone have any experience with these? I DO NOT want diagnostic software, I want information about a diagnostic CARD. Are these worth the money? Do they work? Can someone recommend a decent one? Thanks for your help!

you don't need the card or the software, you can diagnose the computer by your self, first unplug all parts, then just add CPU and RAM on Motherboard, check it, then add parts and check simultaneously.
the boards are not used all that often anymore. the last time i looked at them the price was over 800. These days the diagnostic software you can purchase or the utilities from manufactures usually provide the same information. The best way to start a repair setup is to stock a variety of spare parts such as hard drives cd/dvd drives video cards etc…
Experience from more years then i would like to say
