Norton Anti virus (protection center,spay ware ) is good. But it isn’t complete.

Go to protonic.com and read the whole discussion area on this stuff. Do not read just 1-2 and make a decision. They also have a download page for apps that they have tested thoroughly for and problems. I believe one of their most recommended to be AVG AntiVirus, but you should go read for yourself in case there are newer posts!!!
the best one is SPYbot-Search & Destroy in which Norton did nothing and useless.

I don’t much like Norton either .. I prefer McAfee… I have used it for years and never had problems with it.
I see people recommending free stuff all the time but I also see people using it crying out for help on a daily basis… you get what you pay for…
I don’t know what you found disappointing about Norton.. but usually a vendor like that is at least reliable with the updates if you configure things properly and configuring will also take care of most annoying things…
I usually don’t install all the extra crap that comes along with them.. I stick pretty basic with anti-virus and firewall and mcafee includes anti-spyware so it’s all good.

I am Using Avg. I can Get The update free from gfisoft. For those wo dont have permanent internet connection they can update it by manual.. i just follow this guide
