   Well you’re going to get two answers here.

   Most people will tell you to use the free cleaner "CCleaner" which u can get from http://www.ccleaner.com – but this is BAD because it just tries to find as many problems as possible to make itself look good (why else would it be free)?

   You need to be careful with the regsitry because it’s a crucial part of your system. If you screw up one of the important files inside it, you’re going to have BIG problems down the line… so you need to be sure the registry cleaner you use will be as "delicate" as possible with your PC.

   Try CCleaner, it is free and I use it, it also has a registry cleaner in it. I like it.

   I would suggest ccleaner and it can make your computer run faster but not by much. If it’s games you want faster you would have to look at your computer specs to see if they are equipt to handle fast games and also how bogged down your computer is. Might want to try defragging your computers harddrive also. This can defiantly help. Start>all programs> accessories>System tools>Disk defrag

    I use CCleaner and Advanced System Care, but only to clean out useless files. They will not speed you up to a point where you would actually notice it.

    This is a free download that actually works. Great for cleanup and registry issues. Any maintenance you can do will always help the operation.
    I also advise getting the Malwarebytes anti malware free version and run it. When I ran it for the first time it was pretty shocking what all it found on my system I never knew was even there. Here is a link to them also
