I need virus protection for my laptop and Im a little tight on cash so I prefer a free one.

definentally get AVG but get a back up scanner such as spy bot or malware anti malware bytes to see if a virus is real or a false possitve
Norton, AVG ,Avast are free anti virus software. Ad-aware, Ewido are free spyware removers.You can download free softwares at http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/ spywareremover.html .You can also run a free registry scan using utilities from

i would use avast or Comodo Internet Security
