   Be careful when messing with the registry, you could fry the entire OS. Chances are the registry is not why your computer is freezing. You should look at your event viewer to find out what is going on. Go to start>settings>control panel>administrative tools>event viewer>system log.

   CCleaner is pretty popular, i would recommend using it. I believe you have to buy it though
