Basically I want to get rid of everything I don’t use or need, but so many things are interconnected that I don’t know what I can and can’t get rid of. Plus I want to completely rid my computer of adware, spyware, etc. Some of that stuff I just can’t get rid of. What should I do? Or what is a reasonable price to pay someone else to do it?

download Auslogics, it defrags ur computer, gets rid or registry errors, deletes all temporary files,history and cookies and deletes all the crap u dont need.
it has a 15 day trial but u can download a crack for it somewere and if u want to get rid of spyware there are tons of anti-spyware programs
Backup all your critical files to a CD/DVD Recordable
Drop you O/S CD in and reboot
Install new OS
Once done, Install AVG (free.avg.com) and keep it running to keep you machine free of adware, spyware, virus;
If you don’t want to reinstall from scratch then do at least the last step (install AVG).
You should probably reformat your computer and then install all the stuff you need.
you can buy discs that completely wipe the hard drive and take the computer back to what it was like when it left the factory
