Get a 2.5" SATA hard drive enclosure and put your hard drive in there so you can plug it into another computer, noting the manufacturer of the drive. Go to their website and download whatever diagnostic tool they have for their drives and run it and see if it catches anything . I would think that the problem is that when it re-sized the partition, it somehow messed up the NTFS formatting and so some important files got scrambled.
You can also grab any documents you had on the drive off of it because it will basically work like a thumb drive when it’s connected to the other computer. If running some hard drive tests don’t find anything/can’t fix it, you could try doing a low-level reformat of the drive and then reinstalling Windows, as this is exactly what Samsung will do if you sent it in.
