   1st) What do you mean by Memory Card?

   I’m not sure if you mean hard drive, or memory or what the goal is.

   It sounds like your problem is just with windows XP itself. The best thing to do at this time is start the PC with the XP cd and do a reinstall of windows.

   If you are able to move files from the My Documents folder to another folder on the root drive, you will be able to safe that stuff from the reinstall.

   If you have nothing to save just do a format and install XP.

   #1 run

   then i would run a chkdsk /f from the command prompt to check the hard drive
