   It helps to clear out or delete temporary files,recycle bin files etc basically junk that needs to be cleared from time to time.
   If you need to free up space,Uninstall programs that you dont need, burn music, movies pics etc onto DVDs ets, run a diskcleanup(get rid of temp files, recycle bin files, older restore points) and you should be able to get some space free. You can also get an external drive and move some stuff off to it. Deleting lots of files can end up causing fragmentation. You can analyze the drive to see the fragmentation levels.

   few things you can do

   1) disk defragmenter
   2) disc clean up
   the disc clean up wont delete your files but if you want you can always use
   3) in the control panel (add or remove programs)
   look through the list and delete everything you dont want most of the things you will know are stupid and uneccesary

   this helped me with the space on my computer

   *this may take a while but patience will get you faster computer :]
