I prefer AVIRA AntiVirus. It is the anti-virus that we’re using in our company.
REMOVING ROGUE SOFTWARE AND TROJANS:
Download, update and scan your computer with Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware, delete what ever they find, run SmitfraudFix if this fails to completely remove the infection, all the software below is completely free and safe to use.
If your infection is proving very hard to remove download then update Avast and run a boot-scan (click schedule boot-scan and restart your PC).
Malwarebytes: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
SuperAntispyware: http://www.superantispyware.com/
SmitfraudFix: http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.exe
Avast Anti-Virus: http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
Once you have removed the infection download Avast and Comodo Pro firewall, then switch to Firefox 3 if you are browsing with IE this should stop the virus returning. (links on my profile)
Guide to using SmitfraudFix: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic17258.html
You should have McAfee, I use it and I only pay $59.99 a year for the security version or $49.99 for the antivirus to make sure my computer doesn’t mess up. I still don’t get why people like trialwares. Reduce the chances of a trip to the technician and money if you are the kind of person that gets viruses all the time. Remember the antivirus won’t help much if you don’t do a routine full scan of your computer.
i use the free AVG myself
Norton Anti virus 😉
cost some money though
