   No, since the concept isn’t valid. Cleaning the registry, unless you’ve really damaged it badly, won’t speed things up. About the only speedup you might get is if you defragmented the hard drive – that will speed up drive access. But the only way to speed up an older computer is to replace it with a newer one. It’s slower because newer programs (and Windows upgrades) are larger and more complex.
