I think the people who really need the help with computers the most are seniors or the disabled.
Keep your business and extend a free training program for seniors and the disabled.
Not only will you get good recognition, but you will definitely feel rewarded at the end of the day.
Employ patient and knowledgeable employees who will be able to utilize their skills to help inform and teach them.
I say this because many … not all, but many seniors are buying computers etc mainly to interact with their loved ones overseas etc (conferencing with family members); and the disabled (the ones who are not intellectually challenged) would benefit from being able to use a computer, and may give them confidence and some self-esteem.
Everyone can help … and not everyone have to quit their day job to do so. Use what you know and have to help others.
I hope your venture to be of better worth to the community will be successful.

Simply … don’t teach anyone to do anything illegal – that bit is a choice.
Teach typing or basic word processing; teach them how to use the net. As I said, come up with a program (an actual effective program).
Teach them how to use a webcam and use it to have conferences with their families etc. Teach them about PC safety. Protecting yourself etc.
There’s plenty.
I think you should organize computer recycling. People will throw away on the order of 100 million computers in the next few years. Millions of these could be refurbished and given to people unable to afford a new computer.
YEA, i wanna increase my knowledge on computering, maybe u can add me, i can help too…i think…
I now live in a seniors building. I help the seniors(I am 64) with their computer problems all I asked for was a smile in return.
Wow, I admire that you have a heart to help others. I don’t think you have to quit the computer stuff to help people. In fact I believe that you can use your computer knowledge as your gift to society. There are lots of people that do not have computer skills. You could teach some older adults how to use computer, people who are just entering the work force, and entrepreanuers like myself who would like to build their own business website, but don’t have a clue on how to do it. When you see people who wouldn’t have gotten jobs get them because of the computer training you have given them, or older adults who thought they could never learn, or Business owner with great professional websites online all because of the computer knowledge you’ve shared with them, you’ll find that you’ll feel so rewarded.
