odd amount of ram? 256, 512,1028, why not just put a 1Gb stick in, if its compatible with your mobo?
the best way to clean up windows is to back up what you want to save like my documents and pictures music ect
then format the hard drive and reinstall windows
Hi. Go into 'Control Panel> Add/remove programs>" and delete any that you do not want. Then use a free cleaner program like Ccleaner. http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,24149-order,1-page,1-c,systemresourcestuneup/description.html
reformat
aka reinstall xp fresh
You can check to see if the extra memory is present by right clicking on My Computer icon on the desktop and selecting properties (General tab). You can download a free program called CCleaner (Crap Cleaner) to clean old redundant files and your Internet cache and cookies. Use the link supplied below. Good luck! (reformatting is not the answer)
