What's up with all the blank squares with red X's, I see in stead of pictures? Adjust security settings maybe?

i dont use spysweeper but anti spyware and anti-virius (norton is one) can be set to block ad’s on web pages to save bandwidth and increase load times (not really all that bad if you have broadband but 56k’ers find it useful i guess)
these settings can sometimes think that images that you are ment to see are ad’s and will block them, and the way that most email clients display that will stop the normal "[ad]" text from showing up when the ant virus stops the display so you see the ‘broken image’ icon.
as far as i know there is no way to block images with a registry cleaner (and if you could it would happen to ALL web images not just email and some webpages), you might want to check your security settings, open IE and go tools->internet options go to the LAST tab in the internet oprtions window and just allow all the image stuff in that section, it wont hurt.
other then that worst comes the worst rebuild windows, that always helps.
oh and thanks for actualy saying what setup u have and not just asking the question with no detail… is annoying when ppl do that :S
right click on internet explore go to properties click on the advancd tab. go down the list till you come to multimedia , tick the box show pictures also click on the restore to defaults tab then click on apply & ok
If using internet explorer, go to Tools > Internet options and adjust the security level. Or click opn advanced and restore defaults. It then works
The reason why I get the little boxes is because my bandwidth can’t handle the downloads. I have a very slow broad band connection because I live in the country. If I wait long enough some of them do fill in. Sometimes I get them if someone doesn’t know how to forwardthings properly, like instead of using insert picture they send the graphic as an attachment….I hate that.
If using Internet Explorer:
* Goto Tools > Internt Options
* Select the Advanced tab
* Scroll down to the Multimedia section
* Check the box saying ‘show Pictures’
and your done!
