My computer is running slow and I didn’t want to get trial version stuff anymore (nor have I wanted to buy something that screws up registry deletions and makes me have to reformat my computer every time). Best answer with a legitimately free registry cleaner gets 10 points!

Unlss you get one illegally… the free full cleaners that you can get include CCleaner, WiseCleaner and GlaryUtilities. You can get them from searching on Google!
However, i’d be careful when trying to use these cleaners on your PC – they are not taht effective. If you want to fix your PC properly, then you might want to try and find a way to get "RegCure". It costs $30 but I’m sure a lot of people will show you how to get it for free. This will find a lot more problems than the free cleaners will find, and it’s a lot more safer to use on your PC as well.
You’ll need to do four things to remedy a slow PC.
1.Delete your browsers history,etc..This is found in Tools.
2.You might have malware/spyware, so install the free versions of either Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware,A-Squared free,or SUPERAnti-Spyware;get either one or two of these programs.Update the programs signatures and run a full scan.Quarantine what these find and then delete them only from quarantine so they don’t reload them selves into the PC.
3.You’ll need to clean up your hard drive and registry of useless files, etc. and the best free program for that is CCleaner. There are others but that’s as far as I’ll go. When you open the program,go to Options, then to Settings, check Secure Deletion(slower) and change it to Gutman (35 passes);leave the rest of the program in it’s default settings. It may take a little longer but it will erase this sludge more thoroughly. Run the cleaner, then the registry.
4.Finally,you’ll need to defrag your hard drive to tighten up all those loose/fragmented files. The best free utility for that is SmartDefrag.Change the program to Deep Optimization and run the program.
delete history,scan,clean,defrag,
All these programs are free for personal use at CNET at http://www.download.com

Try CCleaner or Eusing Free Registry cleaner.
I have been using CCleaner for more than 2 years. When you install it, there is an option to also install the Yahoo Toolbar. As you are already on Yahoo, no need to install it.

You don’t even have to install the program. If you download the portable version, you unzip it into the folder you want and/or copy it to a flash drive, etc. and run it from the command line or from Windows Explorer.
