Personally I would not trust a free registry cleaner that much. I downloaded Uniblue’s Registry Booster and very happy with it. Being a Microsoft Gold Partner, I prefer such companies. You can try their free scan at http://www.liutilities.com/products/registrybooster/ if not mistaken.

It says whether they are freeware, shareware, trial etc. I used to use Lexun RegScrubXP. It was good and it works for Windows XP, but I have upgraded to Kubuntu, so I no longer need a registry scrubber. It is at http://www.kubuntu.org

CCleaner cleans you PC and registry. It’s free, quick and does an excellent job!
I use both CCleaner and Advanced Windows Care.
