Open the menu, go to accessories, them system. Choose disk clean up and check mark everything and apply. This will also remove a lot of junk from the computer including you internet browsing junk. Get rid of programs directories that you have un-installed programs from the computer. These tend to hang around if the program has created files the program didn’t install when you loaded them up. To make even more room, files you keep that don’t need to be on the computer, save them to a CD.
Try:
CCleaner: http://www.ccleaner.com/
and Registry Cleaner
GOTO CNET.COM
I use Wise Disc Cleaner. They have a Registry Cleaner too and they’re both free.
I would recommend CCleaner. It will do what you are looking for.
Search for cc cleaner, its pretty good.
As far as free programs go, I would also recommend CCleaner. However, if you want something that does more for you (but isn’t free) I would go for Auslogics BoostSpeed ($29.99, includes disk defrag and registry cleaner plus multiple "speed up" utilities) or TuneUp Utilities ($49.99, includes disk defrag and registry cleaner among others plus the styler for cosmetic use and a system restore utility).
Also, I suggest looking around the Auslogics site, you might find what you need there for free!
As for deleting the files yourself, I personally would not recommend doing that, as it can mess up your computer (trust me, I’ve tried!).
