i currently have a problem with my windows vista, and as a suggestion in from the microsoft community informed me that i should try repairing it by using a back up disk of windows, but my windows software was pre-installed , so i dont actually have a back up CD. add the fact that windows home premium doesnt support the whole PC back up function. do i really need to get a new OS? or can i download a clean version of it somewhere, without necessarily pirating one. the suggestion mentioned something like "performing a repair installation or an in-place upgrade"
here’s the link to the suggestion for the repair, if anyone has a better suggestion or a way to help me do the suggestion, by all means reply. hehe..thanks in advance 😀

contact the computer manufacture and request a set of vista cd’s
then you should have a partition on your computer that contains the backup . REFER to your owner’s manual for your computer
otherwise, you will have to buy a copy of windows VISTA
