1. You can run a Disk Cleanup – Goto: Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk Cleanup.
2. Uninstall Old Programs you don’t need/use anymore – Goto: Start -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs
3. Download and run CCleaner – like Disk Cleanup but gets rid of more stuff, don’t use the registry cleaner part of the program unless you know what you’re deleting.
make sure you clear out your temporary internet files and cookies
Only clean out files from folders if you know they are old files that YOU put there and YOU know you don’t need anymore.
If you want to clean some junk off your hard drive:
Start Menu > ‘All Programs’ > ‘Accessories’ > ‘System Tools’ > ‘Disk Cleanup’

This will find and remove any malicious virus/trojan/worm ‘s you may have aquired. Be sure to let it update itself first.
2. Wise Registry Cleaner

3. Auslogics Registry Defrag

This will defrag your registry.
