When is the last time you cleaned your registry and fully optimized your computer? This is a frequent causes of a computer being slow. It is simply overwhelmed with useless and problematic files and programs. I would recommend giving your computer a jump start by performing a diagnostic test. You can get a free scan at

Have you ever Defragged your computer? Fragmentation occurs as you create, download and edit files. The files get broken up into little pieces and saved wherever free space is available. Then the computer has to work extra hard (using many I/O cues) to open these fragmented files. The same occurs with a tranfer and makes the computer really slow. This severely degrades the speed, performance and reliability of your computer. Try Diskeeper 2008, it s an automatic defragger so you’ll never have to worry about defragging again. You can download 30-day trial-ware at http://www.diskeeper.com
Computer may be slow due to various reasons like virus to low disk space. There is a nice article on slow computer and its solution in the following link. it may help you to resolve your slow computer issue. Have a look, may help

Below can help you speed up your pc:

2. Temporarily close Quick Launch:
Right-click on the Taskbar, click Toolbars, deselect Quick Launch
3. Open My Computer
Right-click on C:
Click Properties
Click Tools, select Error Check (check all and fix), when finished click defrag & run.
4. Click Start, Run ipconfig -renew (type ipconfig space renew)
5. Restart. Right-click on Taskbar, click Toolbars, select Quick Launch to restore
All these things should be done regularly. The more frequently they are run, the less time they take.
-Note: Games and videos are mostly graphics. Graphics create large files. If these suggestions don’t help, you might need more memory.
Last, if you haven’t cleaned your registry in a while. This is necessary. Your registry holds all the information regarding updates, installs, un-installs etc. Each one of those events produces a key. That key needs your PC’s resources and free space. So, if you clean your registry, you make more resources available for speed. Does a registry scan if you got more than 20 errors you should clean it.

If your virus/spyware free, there are a couple things you can do get your computer working faster. If you using your computer for normal stuff and not gaming. You don’t always need more RAM you just need to perform a few maintenance task.
First, if you haven’t cleaned your registry in a while. This is necessary. Your registry holds all the information regarding updates, installs, un-installs etc. Each one of those events produces a key. That key needs your PC’s resources and free space. 2. Clear your Windows cache files, this is your temporary file. It can grow up to a large volume and stop your computer from using RAM properly. In a sense slow it down by preventing it from using free space. Here is how:
1. Quit Internet Explorer, Firefox, or any other web browser
2. Click Start, click "Control Panel", and then double-click "Internet Options".
3. On the General tab, click "Delete Files" under Temporary Internet Files.
4. In the Delete Files dialog box, click to select the "Delete all offline content" check box , and then click OK.
5. Click OK.
3. Manage your startups. Your excess CPU usage is due to too many programs running in the background. You can cut these to barebones by alter your msconfig. Here is how:
1. Open your Start menu.
2. Click Run
3. In the command screen type "msconfig.exe"
4. In the "system configuration utility",click either "service" or "startup" tab
5. Uncheck all programs that your are no longer using.
6. Click "OK"
5 things that slow a PC down:
1. A Cluttered Registry
2. Too Many Start-Up Programs
3. Full Hard Drive
4. Not Enough Memory
5. Spyware and Malicious Programs
So which is slowing you PC down al 5 or just one? House Keeping, 2 words woman hate but PC’s need it too no just a house.
Maybe it needs to be defragged.
try buy more RAM
Maybe you filled it up too much.
Delete stuff you don’t need.
better to format the system because the system may be infected with virus or some windows files may to damage ..
The reason why it takes longer and longer to boot up is because you are accumulating more programs that load when Windows does. Take away some programs that boot on start up.
I dont think that there is any way around this… try to not put too many things on the one operating system, it may be cloging up the registry. It may also be that you have a outdated computer. You may need to buy a competely new one…
Your computer might have tracking cookies on it and those can slow computers down too or viruses. Try doing a scan with your anti virus software and see if this helps. You just have to scan your computer at least once a week to clear it of cookies and viruses. I try and remember to do it every time I log in but I forget too sometimes. Hope this helped.
if you want to ipmorve startup time. go to run. type msconfig. go to start up. and uncheck whatever you dont need in there
try using windows update to install the latest options.
if that doesnt work re-install windows.
or you might have to upgrade your hardware ? this can often be done for under £100
it’s gettin old?
May be infected with virus. Try Formatting the hard disk if you have backups of all the data u need.
