   It might not entirely be because of the virus, here are some thing to check for:

   1) Too many programs running at start up
   2) Hard Drive is too fragmented
   3) Hard Drive is too full
   4) Registry has grown over time
   5) Spy-ware
   6) Bad Sectors on Hard drive
   7) Overheating
   8) Data Corruption

   First of all remove all the big files from your desktop. If your hard disk is full get some external usb hard disk and move all your movies and pictures there. Then update you antivirus and antispyware if you have one if not get one and run a full scan. After that a defragmentation is a good idea. If the problems still persist then you should use a decent registry cleaner. If you are not sure which one to use maybe you could do what I did. Visit the http://thebestofregistrycleaners.com

   For running slow there are many causes:
   Microsoft Registry Problems
   RAM
   De-Fragmenting
   Etc.

   Clean windows registry can speed up the computer.
   Registry Cleaner can fix your pc errors.
   Over time, you install new programs, uninstalled unimportant programs, update software’s, install new devices,
   download files from the web, etcetera, hence embarking all records in the registry system.
   This is normal, but it is not wise to leave it untouched.
   Once in a while, you have to check and remove files that are no longer in use to maintain the speed of your PC.
