lol…norton is ur problem…u only have 512mb of memory…norton is eating up most of it..I recommend u uninstall norton and install avira antivir..the free version beats most paid antiviruses: http://www.free-av.com
also..try disabling some background processes…go to start>run and type services.msc then hit enter
disable the ones that u know u dont need…try looking up online what each service does and if u need it running or not
also u might have some programs starting up with ur computer…try disabling ones u dont need….go to start>run and type msconfig then hit enter
go to the startup tab and disable the ones u dont need
It could be the 512 RAM, that’s fairly slow for nowadays. The more RAM, the faster you go. Try adding another stick of memory in there, or check the specs on the computer you have to see how much the max is for RAM on your computer. I have a simple business computer, but with 2 Gig of RAM and it’s lightening speed. RAM comes cheaper now.
I would suggest trying other programs for spyware and viruses. Good ones are Lavasoft’s free antispyware program and AVG’s virus scanner. Also for added protection consider a firewall, like Zonealarm, it’s free as well. For the internet try using Firefox if you are not using it. It makes your surfing experience faster and more secure. Also do disk defragmentation and disk cleanup and remove that Norton Anti-Virus, that’s a huge memory hog and see if that helps.
