Best thing to do without adding any memory is to go back and use XP or Vista Basic. Also use the run command and type in msconfig.
Then click the startup tab and uncheck all that is in there. Ya might wanna leave your anti-virus checked or simply open it when you wanna go online. Thats what I do. I only run a program when I need it.
Good Luck!
With windows 7 being a newer OS it tends to perform alot of extra tasks for instance security and a better user interface because of this the RAM requirements are greater and with your relatively small amount of ram so when you go take part in activities that further tax the ram it will slow the computer down considerably. Try going into Run>MsConfig and turn off some programs on startup or check if you have programs running in the background that dont need to be. Or as a final solution get more RAM.
Your processor and the amount of ram you have is not very good. Yes, you meet the minimum system requirements for Windows 7 so that means you can run it, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will run well.
Windows 7 needs at least 2GB of ram to run nicely but even if you add more ram i suspect it will still run slow due to your aging CPU.
see if you have a google toolbar or any other toolbar installed..this could cause the problem..
More RAM, 1Gb is barely enough to run Win7☺
Windows 7 uses up 1GB of ram so thats how much you have so when you play games or something or have more then 1 program opened it can really run down your computers memory I would juggest just getting 1 more 1GB of ram OR down grade to Windows XP oh yea and same with windows vista it also takes up 1GB of ram
