Sorry to hear that you’re pc isn’t performing to the standard that it used to. Before you dive into buying a new pc or hard drive why not consider giving the registry a good clean. Over time the registry can get cluttered up and affect the performance of your pc so you should clean it out and delete all the old files that have been entered into the registry that you no longer use. I downloaded a free registry cleaner which allows you to have a free scan and I increased the speed of my pc by about 20%.
According to yours question, You may need to registry cleaning tool,There are many kinds of professional registry cleaner if you google. And i prefer Registry Victor to any other.
It can do a complete scan of the pc errors such as system slowdown, freezing, crashing and deadlock. Safely optimize the speed of system and set your PC in a fantastic performance!
You can Free download and see detail here: http://registry-victor.kooksoft.com
I hope this may help you.
Go to Windows Live One Care Scanner, Downloaded from Microsoft, and let it scan your Computer, that scanner will strighten things out for you.
You may have to reinstall the computer.
You might have a bigger Hard Drive than it’s used to which can slow it down, or you need more memory (ram)
defrags and anti spyware and anti virus and all that crap do a good job, but they’re nothing compared to a clean reformat. save all your important stuff, find someone with a copy of your operating system, and reformat your hard drive completely. this also gives you a chance to reorganize your computer the way you like it.
if you can’t reformat:
auslogics disk defrag does a way better job of defragging than the windows wizard. google it.
same with smart defrag
malwarebytes is awesome for keeping your computer clean
so is microsoft security essentials
and they’re all free
also, check in the bottom right corner to see what programs are running in the background. if you computer is old, heavy antivirus software like AVG or norton can really slow your system down. microsoft security essentials is light and effective. i love it.
open any programs that are running that you aren’t using like skype, utorrent, and printer software and set them not to start up when windows starts up. that’ll save you some performance.
ifyour comp always looks like it’s processing something, hit ctrl+alt+delete, hit processes, and arrange them according to CPU% so you can see what’s bogging down your computer the most. if simple programs like chrome and office are bogging down your computer, try the reformat, if they are just using a lot of your processor, then you just need a new and updated computer.
