no it wont erase your files, but you have to make sure the key you will be using is for the same version of windows xp or else it wont work
There is a magnificant trick to all this: Throw your computer at a wall until you can see the HDD, then go out a buy a Mac, because, you wouldent get such a dreadfull problem in such a case!
This is possible. Changing of Product Key will not erase all files in the computer.
you can,t change the product key cos its xp pro , and xp home . you have to format C: driver and install windows xp home with the key mentioned in the product lable . probbaley all other software aslo you have to install freshlly. whatever data you want to keeep move to other driver before your formating the C: drive
