Hi,
Yes I would think so, first make a restore point in case anything goes badly.
The download and use Ccleaner, it’s Free!
I use it all the time myself, brilliant program.
From Ccleaner.com.
It has an undo function plus a lot of good functionality.
Runs on all the windows platform, 2000, XP, Vista etc.

No, a registry cleaner can’t fix a missing file and that’s what it sounds like has happened. Either it’s a corrupt installation or as you said, you messed with it and did something with its’ files and now it won’t open.
it’s definitely worth a shot. I use registryfix.com, it’s very good.
A registry cleaner probably won’t help you, and you may end up doing more harm than good. Trouble with registry cleaners is that there’s no way the program can reliably know whether any particular registry key is ‘junk’ or not.
You might be better off reinstalling the software, which should fix any registry and file problems that may exist.
Some installer programs give you the chance to ‘Repair’ an installation, but if not, just reinstall in the same directory location.
And if you do intend to use a registry cleaner, make sure you take a backup of the registry beforehand!!!!
Best of luck!
