Now is time to give the next step to 64 bits.
"will it overwrite my documents (pdf, word, jpg)". No, if you want uses your documents you can use them in any system (32/64 bits, Windows/Linux/Mac), only need the correct program (but you cant use windows 7 in 64 bits to repair your version in 32 bits).
But if you install Windows 7 in 64 bits, you need to start to search programs in 64 bits, normally, programs of 32 could be run in Windows 64 (but not vice versa).
And be sure that your processor have support in 64 bits!! (AMD yes, intel not in all processors).
Yeah, it will work, windows 7 64 bit is faster than 32 bit so its a win-win
eh-hem… to actually ANSWER your questions…
No, you can’t use Win 7 64 to repair the 32bit version that is installed.
Yes, you can install Windows 7 64 bit on your system, provided you have a 64bit processor, which you have NOT said anything about.
If you do have a 64 bit processor, and you install it, it will erase your drive and install fresh. So Yes, you would lose all your current information on the drive.
end of line
