I’m afraid that by messing around in the registry you have rendered your laptop useless! You might be able to remove the hard drive and use a docking station to save your files. But you will have to recover your system…
1. Power on the machine.
2. At the white ACER BIOS screen, hold the “Alt” key and press the “F10” key simultaneously to start Acer eRecovery.
3. Once eRecovery has loaded, click “Restore to Factory Default Settings”
4. Click “OK” to continue.
5. From here, the eRecovery process will update all the data on the C: drive and restore a fully functional factory image (approximately 10 minutes).
6. Once eRecovery has run, press “OK” to reboot unit.
You must have currepted the boot or root files now you need to reinstall windows again.
Pls do not trying to change the boot & registry files
step one.
run to your closest APPLE store and buy a Mac
step 2.
feel better 🙂
Without any kind of Windows disc, your issue is going to be difficult to resolve. Have you attempted tapping F8 as the computer starts to see if you can boot it into Safe Mode, VGA Mode, Last Known Good Configuration? If any of those options work, you should be able to get in to at least back up your data to some external device, or possibly attempt to run System Restore. If you don’t have access to a Windows disc, and you cannot boot into Windows through the options listed above, it would seem your best option would be to execute the Acer recovery option. To back up your data beforehand, try to access your files from ubuntu that you mentioned you had, and copy them to an external hard drive/flash drive. As far as saving the programs, you might be out of luck there. The only other suggestion I can make is to contact Acer for replacement reinstallation media so that you could attempt to repair the OS rather than wipe the drive with the Acer utility.
